If serious, fundamental, and sweeping changes are not made soon, the American economy, perhaps even the American society, soon will collapse. What will America look like without an economically, militarily, and socially vibrant nation? What will the world look like without an American superpower?
Some already openly or secretly have declared war on America and long for a day when America collapses, so that they can take the lead and reshape the future of the world. The question then is what kind of system will the globe be adopting? When my students ask about my view on which country is the most democratic, my answer to them is always that America’s system of democracy is not perfect but it is the best we have. Even though America‘s democracy has its flaws, I don’t think any other country has a better democratic system of government than the American democratic system; therefore, America has been blessed with it, and yet many Americans do not even know what kind of blessing they have because they do not travel to see first hand what is going on around the world.
What will happen if that system collapses? If America collapses, will that mean the collapse of freedom? America has been the most dominant nation on earth for the last century. America used to be the beacon of freedom, and, as such, it attracted most of the globe’s best talent and became the place to undertake almost any endeavor. Further, it was the champion of the free market economic system. But, that was then, and this is now. Now, America owes more than 15 trillion dollars to a range of creditors, including China. Many Americans do not realize that the American government even borrows money to cover a multiplicity of unfunded liabilities, included social security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits. While America and the West struggle to stay away from recession, India, China, Brazil, Turkey, and some Africa countries are growing economically at up to 8 to 9 percent every year with no economic slow down. Today the tallest building in the world is not located in the U.S, but now is in the Middle East. The world’s richest man is not an American anymore; he is a Mexican, and the largest publicly trading company is a Chinese one. The biggest car manufactures are not located in the U.S anymore, but rather in China. The longest and fasted train was launched in China, the world’s biggest refinery is in India, and all the biggest factories are in China. Now the biggest think tanks are in Dubai, and the most richly endowed investments are in the United Arab Emirates. Unfortunately, these American icons have shifted to foreigners and to other countries. Even the biggest movie industries are no longer in America’s Hollywood but are in India’s Bollywood.
What made America the best undeniably was its education system, and that system was the reason the globe’s top brains were educated in the US. But now the American elementary and high school youth are been educated by Turkish Muslim missionaries, and this “Gulen Movement” has opened more than 140 charter schools in the US with high schools in all fifty American states. Knowledge is power, so why are the Turks possibly teaching Americans--because Americans do not have enough science and math teachers? Is that why every year thousands of Turkish Muslim missionaries come to the USA under the HB1-visa to educate the American kids, while so many American teachers are unemployed? What do they teach the kids? Amazingly, they indoctrinate US citizens in public schools and use the media to trick them into believing that socialism and other kinds of systems are the kindest and best form of government with the result being seen everywhere, such as in Occupy Wall Street which protested that capitalism does not have a soul, while all around the globe billions of people have been empowered by the beautify of capitalism.
A wide range of political analysts, columnists, social scientists, historians, religious leaders, and commentators are saying that America is on the path to implosion. Not only left winged speakers publicly speak of dark clouds about America’s future, but also conservatives, for example, one of the foremost conservative publishing houses in America. Author Mark Steyn, who is a popular conservative and regularly contributor to The National Review and the Washington Times, set forth this gloomy forecast in a book called “ After America: Get Ready for Armageddon.” Basically, according to Steyn, Europe was already lost, and America was the one that rescued Europe, so if America is lost, who will rescue America? His thesis accurately foretells that time is running out for America, and that if America does not make any changes soon, then it is doomed to collapse. If the American economy collapses, those who are committed to the destruction of the U.S will be one step closer to accomplishing their goals. That is why it is very important for terrorists to concentrate on hitting the U.S economy through all possible means.
I do not see any politicians in the United States who are knowledgeable enough to save or capable of saving the American economy from collapsing. Instead we have seen that President Obama has refused to be pessimistic in his address on the American situation and still believes that America can overcome these tough challenges by accelerating fiscal bankruptcy and by borrowing and spending more money. Instead of using chemotherapy to go after the all bad cells that are killing the America society, President Obama instead is still optimistic saying that America will overcome the malignancies, yet all the while he is allowing America to metastasize.
America has undermined the moral authority of its American foreign policy around the world, especially in the Middle East, leaving the fate of the change of the Middle East to Turkey and abandoning the main American allies in the region, the Kurds and the Israelis. I do believe that American power has impacted the stability and prosperity of the world. A good example of that would be China and India; if today 600 million in China have risen from poverty to prosperity and China has become a powerful country because of technology, those conditions are because the best gifts that America gave to China were free enterprise and technology.
I believe that simultaneously we are now witnessing a serious decline of US power; a world dominated by the West or America has given way to a new world order in which economic and political power is much more contested. The Americans and their democratic leaders simply remain blinded, do not care, and are less interested in geopolitics and world domination. Further evidence is seen in the decline of American technological innovation and the end of dollar’s privileged status as the global reserve currency. China has already launched a pilot program for its currency to be the alternative to the dollar as a global reserve currency. America is under attack on many fronts, and no American leader is doing anything about it. Under the Obama Administration America is too weak and too incompetent to regain lost power. He does not understand the threats to the United States, he does not make any necessary changes to prevent the implosion from happening, nor does he understand history very well. Just like the Soviet Union, the US is destined to collapse. It is not if, but when it will collapse. Many believe that the shift away from Christianity and capitalism will lead to the collapse of America, and that the West will seek another alternative to its way of life. This is highly possible because forces are already in place to accommodate the ushering in of the new ideologies.
