Caraga State university visited the SETBI along with the BJMP to benchmark its College Education Behind Bars (CEBB) - a program that aims to help Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) overcome personal, economic, social, and civic deficiencies by offering quality tertiary education in the Davao City Jail. The benchmarking was a response to the request of the Butuan and Caraga Jail to establish the same program in hope that Caraga State university can incorporate insights from SETBI practices with the BS Information Technology as the first course offering. The CEBB which was established in Davao City in 2017 is a first of its kind in the Philippines and Asia, thus breaking stigma by dispelling stereotypes and offering new perspectives on PDLs.The University also stated that the CEBB program was originally conceived by the Social Entrepreneurship Technology and Business Institute (SETBI) in partnership with the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region XI.
